ICC Cricket world cup
Starts tomorrow from Sri LankaWho you thinks taking it?
Just watching warm up game between pakistan and India
Really good game so far Can't believe Sangakarra got the cricketer of the year award I thought Amla was going to surely get it
But seeing as it was set in Sri Lanka Colombo can see why Sangakarra won it
This pak vs ind game is quality Of all the sports this is probably the hardest to predict the winner. If some of the big hitters fire for the less fancied teams then they'd have a chance.Gayle and McCullum spring to mind. I'll stick my neck out and go for Pakistan.
Agree about Sangakarra, a strange decision indeed. How low key was the awards ceremony. I would have said India but the end bowlers just don't have it
And khan, bhajhi and Pathan seem lost
But south Africa have a good shout
As do Lanka and Pakistan
I like the look of afghanistan aswell I admit Kohli has been quality
As has amla, Clarke etc much more they done then kumar sangakarra The "year" runs from August to August during which time Sangakkara scored over 1,400 runs in 14 test matches including 5 centuries at an average of slightly over 60
He scored a similar amount of runs in his 37 One Day Internationals as well as taking 37 catches from behind the stumps.
Richly deserved in my opinion This could possiblley be the smallest thread on the forum data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 The decline of interest in cricket in this country is a shame although it's interesting to see that Test matches and One Day Internationals are always jam packed and that a look around the crowds shows them to be predominantly young.
Until losing the home series to South Africa we were the number one ranked cricketing nation in the world and are currently ranked top of the One Day pile too. It was a big thing in the cricketing world when Andrew Strauss the most successful captain in recent years retired but reading the sports pages here it wasn't mentioned at all and more space was devoted to the Outer Mongolian full back that West Bromich Albion may have been interested in.
Next summer why don't you come along to a 20/20 match with us and you will see that it isn't as boring as people make out Been good so far, caught a few games. India v afghans was closer than expected but good to see we tanked em data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
Mccullums knock yesterday was superb and broke the world record to boot!
Should be two good games today Rain delays the start of Sri Lanka V South Africa, down to 7 overs a piece so expect some frantic hits
