After a busy May, finally managed to put in the last three cards to get an official club handicap - 19.
Been playing off 18 unofficially with my playing partners, so a bonus to get an extra shot on the hardest hole, even if we are all scratching our heads how they came to that figure!
Played first comp in Saturday in the June stapleford. Bloody windy but after a dodgy first 2 holes had a great next 12 holes, but threw it away when it started to lash down with four to go.
Carded 35 points and with the conditions getting worse it was good enough for third after countback.I may even get a couple of quid for scoring a two on one of the par 3's.
Glad to get the first one under the belt and looking forward to having a go in the monthly medal off the whites.
Not really played much over last month. Played one competition I think with no change to my handicap.
Our course is playing unbelievably hard, standard scratch is 75, 3 higher than par. The strange weather is making it very difficult for the greenkeepers to keep a control over the rough and lost balls are common just a few feet off the fairway. Not easy at all.

I'm not improving at the moment, but not going backwards, I really need to knuckle down and practise my short game, as chipping is so hot and cold its costing me shots each round.
