Masters Snooker 2014
About to start shortly.Yet again i have tickets but not been able to get down for todays matches.
I am hoping to get down tomorrow though for the rest of the week fingers crossed.
Some good r1 matches, Ding vs Murphy should be good , Robertson vs Allen and later today Bingham vs Higgins could be a cracker if John turns it on.
Ronnie and Selby both look to have an easy round one and could meet in the final again, been a few good matches between them and I think Ronnie can handle his (marks's) game a bit now then the last few times.
And at least with a one table setup, we get to see it all on bbc, well via the red button anyway.
Enjoy a nice week of snooker. Great first match before, from 4-0 up it went 5-5 before Selby got over the line.
Always seem to have lots of final frame deciders at the masters, great fun to watch. Would love to go watch.
Ronnie played well. Cracking result for Fu! Ronnie played great the other day and in the arena it was brilliant.
Also the next day Hawkins started so well , a 132 and was 5 2 up but lost the plot and couldn't close it out. The crowd were right behind him and playing as he did at the start I would give a chance against ronnie today, Walden won't have much of one though.
Great quarter finals, three 6 - 5 and a 6 - 4 turnaround with five in a row for Murphy.I,m from sale in Manchester so it was great cheering him on.
Last night though was the best yet, almost midnight finish 5 all 69 all blue, pink and black left. At this point Selby had made several brave and great shots/pots but the double on the blue took some balls. We were off our seats cheering, and then he took the pink which was hard as well. Great comeback and what a good player when not grinding it out. I was first up to say well done and managed to get a signature.
Got him, Murphy, Robertson and a photo with him and by a mad chain of events meet ronnie on the way out late the other day. He was surround by guards who waved me away but he told me come over. He signed for me and I told him that if he meets Selby in the final I hope turns him over big time and he laughed at that. No picture sadly as just the guards were there and they looked mean enough.
Final day today sadly but can't wait to see ronnie again and Neil tonight, next year I am going to watch it all. The arena is great and more feeling than others I've been to before. Also great value for money, early matches are a fiver and if was buy one get one half price in the first week. Only gets pricey from today really but not as bad as the crucible. Glad Murphy went through. Would of liked Higgins to beat Selby.
Might be cheaper then the Crucible but Sheffield is an hour away... London slightly more! data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 Selby played so well to beat him though so I give him full credit. The pot on the blue and played it to land on the pink, which was also risky, took some balls to win the final frame.
Mark is so friendly to the crowd and funny, as long he doesn't switch to grind mode today could be a classic.
In a way I hope he gets a lead and its Ronnie who does the comeback otherwise it could a long grind tonight but having said that Ronnie is in the zone this week and will probably be up for it today no matter what.
Best holiday i've ever had the last week, beating a 6 week break in the cayman islands. Next years I'm booking for the semi/final also.
Come on The Rocket !!!! All hail King Ronnie! Watching Selby get annihilated has been amazing. Such a. Boring player. Every shot is played with the intention of getting the white back up the top of the table. No confident fluid play.
Can't believe Ronnie missed the easiest brown you'll ever see in your life to go 9-1 in front.
Selbys fluke has deserted him thus far in this match. Hope Ronnie can seal the win before it all comes back. We said his mates bet the frame score at 10-2, but he messed up in the next and let them down in the end.
Great to see both his kids there, but the where was the music/confetti on the tv. I'm sure they would have done it the arena.
Could have been a bit closer if selby won to make it 6-2, i think and a few other went in. But Ronnie played great all week, well done the rocket. Lets hope he doesn't mention retirement again for a long time.
Thats me in the 3rd photo after the 6-0 win on friday.
The 2 guys in the next are brothers who sat next to me, the betting slip is the winning frame score result. Only 6-1 odds though but a nice little earner.
