Stanislas Wawrinka (1 Grand Slam wonder)

Do you think Wawrinka can win another Grand Slam or will be remembered as a one slam winner (who got lucky).
I think he is a very good player, definitely top6 but already 28 years old I doubt he can win another slam.
Opinions?

not really into the tennis, but an interest in most sports - except cricket!!!!

But......i honestly think he wont really care if he wins another won or not, he will try his best to win another one, but im sure he has now won one more than he thought he would ever win and will revel in that glory for some time.

Saying that the top guys seem to be in decline / injury prone so you'd never know, definitely more opportunity's than before, i mean even Andy Murray has won a couple now data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

Probably not. However, he is a very good (not brilliant) player who can trouble any of the elite on his day. The problem he has is that there are also some exceptionally talented players out there who on their day, would beat him 9 times out of 10. He's also 28 and with Nadal, Djokovic and Murray all the same age or younger, his chances of a second look remote.

Yep, I totally agree with you, to win another slam he would have to at least beat two of (nadal, novak, murray and federer) which is tough

i think he will go on the same path as del potro a tough opponent, but will not win another slam.

On this subject is there any new mens tennis talent actually coming through which can compete and win slams against the top 4

i believe he will

I think Wawrinka's got as good a chance as anyone outside the usual suspects. He's got the game for it - good first and second serve, useful forehand, one of the best backhands (single or two handed) around.

His biggest obstacle seemed to be mental but I think he's got round that.Until Nadal took his medical time out, Wawrinka was blasting him off the court in a manner that even a fully fit Nadal would struggle with.

True, Wawrinka's best might not be enough to consistently beat the very best from Nadal/Djokovic/Murray, but I think he's worth an outside bet.I wouldn't be surprised if Wawrinka gets another slam, especially if the big three start to decline and we have a 'transition' period to the next era.

Hoping he does pick up another slam to avoid the one slam wonder label. It would be good for the game to see a bit more variety in slam winners.

Hoping Stan continues this run of form. He's not the youngest guy around, but good to see him making moves at the top end.

Good for the sport for someone else to be at the top for a while.Still waiting for the next generation to come up to really challenge the old guard.

Can't believe how quickly the last several years have gone by.Seems like yesterday when it was Nadal stepping up to challenge Federer, and then Djokovic and Murray arrived...
