About 4 days including the weekend if I recall. Not long though and the quality is spot on. The big test for me was if I could gold plate it - it plated fine so at least they aren't scrimping on parts:

I might now relax my policy on plating non Apple straps if they are as good as this.

Cheers for the reply. Your plating is top notch,

Hi mate, how you getting on with this? Is it worth the £40? Looking at getting myself one. Can you confirm the below link is the same as yours please?

Thanks for the link, my bracelet arrived today and I've been wearing it all day without any problems

The links were a bit fiddly and took me a wee bit to work out, but I managed. Basically you get a tool like the iPhone to push in the hole and you can then pull the links apart. Fitting back together is not so easy as you have to push the pin down and quickly push together.

I have the same problems with the links you can see the silver through and this a real shame as it spoils the look. Your picture is the same as mine and all they needed to do was anodise the metal underneath (or whatever). I did the old sharpie trick using the thin end of a permanent marker colouring black and it looks a lot better and is hardly noticeable. If you push back on each link there is just enough room to run the marker up.

I now have the ss version and ss clone band I did like the space grey and black strap but this version is a class apart it looks amazing, I just wish on the clones they could perfect the link gaps but for the money I'm very happy                                                                        https://www.avforums.com/attachments/imageuploadedbytapatalk1442528521-005373-jpg.626237/                                                                                https://www.avforums.com/attachments/imageuploadedbytapatalk1442528535-662308-jpg.626238/

The official Apple SS link bands really are a beautiful highly intricate designed strap that is very hard to copy. I disassemble them for gold plating on a regular basis - the engineering is absolutely second to none.

Yes they are ridiculously expensive but as yet I have yet to see a clone that comes close.

Leather loops etc are simple to copy and I've been very impressed with copies of those. Last week a chap sent me a copy of a Classic bracelet for plating - you couldn't tell the difference and it came out perfectly. But the link bracelet is something exceptional.

It's my personal favourite. I have a black sports band (official) and a third party red leather loop (unofficial) - my official Apple link bracelet is the only one that screams quality in the same way that I look at my Omega Planet Ocean straps.

I ordered the black steel chain a few others did on here, quick question to those that did - when sliding it on and off the apple watch did you have any problems such as finding it stiff? Did this ease up a bit once it had been used a few times?

Christian 71 Publish time 2-12-2019 06:46:36

It's pretty easy, one side on mine is a bit stiff but not so it is a problem. Takes about 20 second to swap straps over.

One of the links broke on mine today, but it was just the pin and there are a couple of spare ones in the pack (along with any from the links you remove). So not a problem I've replace it and hopefully it was just a dodgy pin. Probably partly my fault from when I bent the link back to stain the silver bit black.
