Apple Watch watchOS3
I hope everyone agrees it's a good idea to have a thread for the new watchOS 3 which is out in a few days. I'm thinking that issues upgrading for original Watch owners will be at least as important as questions from new Series 1 and Series 2 owners. My personal fear is that as the 2016 devices have a more powerful dual core chip, the original hardware may struggle to cope.
Apple has some details on watchOS 3 here: Apple Watch - watchOS
I also know some people here have been running the beta, so I would appreciate their input. I spoke to my lass this morning, and as we are getting new iPhones and watches on Friday we may wait to upgrade the OS
The idea is that the new hardware will feel like it's a better update all through data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 Updated everything to iOS 10 tonight but Apple Watch has not gone well and now shows the dreaded red exclamation mark! Apple website says to contact them for further assistance data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
Will be an interesting conversation tomorrow as their WatchOS 3 update has bricked my 'out of warranty' watch that was perfect before the update, will update with outcome. Just to clarify: do you need iOS 10 on your iPhone to get WatchOS 3? Yes that's my understanding. I did the update today. It took ages, but it's all working fine. I'm still getting used to it, but it certainly seems quicker to launch apps. It's night and day compared to how slow it was with the initial software at launch. My watch app says software is up to date on 2.2.2. Why is iOS 3 not showing on mine? I did have ios10 beta before but now I'm on the full version of it. Any suggestions? Have you tried turning both your phone and watch off and back on again? Done that now. Still says your software is up to date with 2.2.2????? Confused! Just unpairedit set it up as a new one and iOS 3 is now showing. Going to download it later.
