Apple Watch Activity Route and grey dots
Can anyone advise me what the grey dots refer to on the route map from my outdoor runs please? As my AW doesn't have GPS, I take my phone with me, but am not sure what the grey dots mean?
It's not when I pause to cross the road, as I don't stop (very quiet in my village when I run!).
Thanks

I went for a walk on tues and no grey dots (and virtually did same route). My run yesterday (same route as the image in my original post) only had grey dots again but in a diff part of my route?
Route I did yesterday is above. Sorry. I don't know the problem. Usually, the grey dot must be the stopover. But you said you never stop? Nope def not stopped. I'm wondering if the GPS loses signal temporarily every now and again? White gaps between grey dots... I'd say you're right and it's dropping the GPS signal Cattle grids?
Pacman power ups?
I'll shut up now I have this on a lot of my runs. What I want to know is whether that section of the run is tracked as part of the overall distance. ie, on my 5km run, am i actually running 5.5km because GPS has been lost for a segment? When i'm pushing hard to improve my times, it's frustrating not actually knowing if i am better or not.
See below where the blue line represents my actual route this morning. I was just outside my PB this morning but when i checked the route, a large section was missed and I may have improved on my PB. but i'll never know....
