Spare batteries
Newbie to photography.Just bought my first proper camera, Nikon D3500 with kit lens, and still learning to use it properly, hence my question. What would be the better option for a spare battery? as the nikon one keeps running out of juice whilst i'm going through the menus. En-el14a, would the Duracell or hahnel equivalent be the better choice. Both around the same price.
Had a look through the first 10 pages of the forum and couldn't find an answer; re spare batteries.
TIA,
NHOJ My wife just bought a Panasonic FZ82, Graham Houghton the Panasonic guru suggests DSTE batteries as a replacement for Panny batteries, you can get them at Amazon for the Nikon, see https://www.amazon.co.uk/DSTE-EN-EL14-ENEL14-Li-ion-Battery/dp/B00D65Q0C8/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=dste batteries for nikon d3500&qid=1566652970&s=electronics&sr=1-4 Thanks @stearman65, had a look at those when I was searching. Wasn't sure about them as they didn't have the "a" at the end of the model number, and also the price seemed a bit low, "buyer beware came to mind". Hopefully someone else could confirm they are good, as I don't want to damage my new camera, or the warranty.
Thanks again for your suggestion.
Nhoj Just checked on Amazon & got 2 confirmations. Ordered them and an in car charger, so hopefully everything will be fine.
Thanks again @stearman65.
Nhoj I got two for my wife with an in car & mains charger. She is using one at present & no problems, & I charged both with the mains charger, no problems. On another concern, I have been using NON manufacturer (non OEM) batteries for 15 years, at the moment I have three spares for my Nikon D4s and D810, BOTH cameras take the same battery, and both are NON Nikon.I have never erer had an issue with decent third party batteries
Also I have shopped with Amazon for 12 years, this year alone we have returned faulty goods both sold by Amazon and not including two £200 gaming chairs and two PC water cooling systems NO problems, instant refunds
I would shop no where else
