For me SS all day long.DaveM asked the same question a few posts up and decided to swap to the SS.

It's all about personal choice but I find the SS great for all occasions with the right strap.

I went Aluminium, couldn't justify the additional £200for the SS.

I’m really happy with my Aluminium Nike model.

I like how light it is and don’t feel the need to baby it quite as much as I would with a SS one.

Baby it?Do you mean durability?

Durability is one of the main advantages of the SS over the Ali model.Screen is sapphire crystal and SS is far more durable plus if you ever get any scratches on the SS they are easy to polish out.

The Ali model can mark very easily.

Are there any pitfalls to buying an Apple Watch (cellular potentially) in France for use in the UK ? I’ve checked LTE bands and the UK and France are the same.
Apple Watch - Carriers

In Paris later this week and can potentially save around £95, at current euro exchange rate, on the Stainless Steel 44mm model.
Thanks

jouster Publish time 2-12-2019 06:18:25

That’s a great saving.

If the bands are the same then it shouldn’t be an issue

blaugrana69 Publish time 2-12-2019 06:18:25

It is a good saving but could also save £55 approx on the GPS Aluminium 44mm.
Having a hard time trying to justify the SS to myself to be honest, even though I will likely keep it 3 years (on a Series 1 at the moment which itself was a free replacement from Apple after my Series 0 bricked) so the crazy depreciation on these things is less of a factor.

jouster Publish time 2-12-2019 06:18:25

It’s worth remembering the SS is a much more hard wearing watch.Any small scratches can be polished out and the screen is much more scratch resistant (my series 0 screen is like new still)

That said the price has to sit right with you.

dtobin Publish time 2-12-2019 06:18:25

Maybe baby it is the wrong phrase.

I’m aware the SS is more durable but if I did damage it, the extra money spent would leave me considerably more upset than if I damaged my aluminium one.

jouster Publish time 2-12-2019 06:18:26

Shame I’m not going to France anytime soon as was going to get my FiL a Series 3GPS for his birthday but at the price I might be able to stretch to a 4.
ah ok.Makes more ease.

That said, I’ve been wearing Apple Watches, Rolex’s, IWCs and Panerais daily for years now and haven never damaged any of them.I’m not even overly careful with them.
