Ticwatch Pro vs Galaxy Watch

Hi all,

I am trying to decide which one should I go for, Ticwatch Pro or Galaxy Watch.

I am particularly looking for two points, 1: If my phone is not around but the watch is connected to WiFi, can they receive data (e.g. Telegram, WhatsApp, Gmail, ...) from the Internet directly?

2. Which one has better battery life?

I read an article in 2015 that wrote about this, but when I contacted their support teams both said their products do not support this; very weird https://www.computerworld.com/article/2912883/upcoming-android-wear-update-cuts-ties-between-smartwatch-and-smartphone.html

I am also open to other brand and models suggested.

Thank you guys.

My Samsung S3 connects to WiFi. It seems to be hit and miss sometimes with how effective this is though. I tend to only use it connected a certain times by generally get 3-4 days per charge.

Thanks Wardy257, so you mean when your watch is on wifi, phone is not around, your watch can receive data, like messages from Teelgram and WhatsApp and emails?

You get notifications of messages, emails etc. You can read WhatsApp messages, SMS etc and reply.

Is that with a messenger app installed on the watch or am I missing something?

On my Ticwatch the phone sends the notification to the watch over BT. But I have just installed Wear Messages app on the watch which now receives TXT, Email and WhatsApp over WiFi when the phone is in flight mode.

I hardly use the feature so don't really know how it works. I have received notifications when by phone is not connected by BT.
