For the convenience of having Samsung Pay on the wrist, ability to wireless charge the watch, compatibility, health tracking, no brainer to get the Galaxy Watch Active / Active 2.

Thanks! Do you have it? Whats the battery life like?

I have the standard 42mm Galaxy Watch. I expect the Watch Active 2 to have comparable battery life, which means easily getting through the day for normal use and AOD off
. The Active 2 is the one to get, as it has a speaker and can take calls and it's got a digital rotating bezel. When I go for a run, I stream music from the watch and use Strava. It'll use about 30% battery during this activity for my usual 10k run. No problem to charge again. But having the ability to charge from my S10 Plus wirelessly when abroad is a godsend. No extra cables / docks needed.

If I hadn't bought the normal Galaxy Watch at the start of the year, I would've bought the Active 2 that's just been released. But my Watch has had the One UI software upgrade and, I prefer the physical bezel, so all good for another few years...

Cool thanks for the detailed response it's so helpful. Is the heart monitor pretty accurate?

Not that I use it much, but keeps pace / consistent with my phone readings.

Seriously, it's the best option if you already have a Samsung mobile. Health tracking is great. Lots of watch faces. Not bothered that it doesn't have the apps available with Wear OS; it's got the core stuff required but a smartwatch and aesthetically looks good.

Thanks for all the info bro. Really appreciate it and it's very helpful. I went to test the Active 2 today in the shop and it's very impressive and i liked how responsive it was. And as you say, very aesthetically pleasing on the eye. I was also very surprised with how light it was too. I think I'll go for it.
