Pixel C or Samsung S2 9.7?
Hi!I am stuck trying to choose between the Pixel C and Samsung S2 9.7. They have a lot in common (similar screen size, same ram, similar battery life). They are currently also about the same price. I can see the specs but can't tell what are they are like in real-life use. I don't need them to do work - just browse the web, answer emails, watch videos, etc. S2s are out of stock everywhere though and it could be because S3 is about to be launched soon.
Samsung pros and cons:
Pros: Samsung is slimmer by 2mm, lighter by about 100gr and has expandable storage (important!) plus has fingerprint scanner (not important).
Cons: Samsung has bloatware and the the touchwhiz interface
Price: £350 for 32bg version (built-in storage not impt, since can add an sdcard)
Pixel pros and cons:
Pros: Pixel C has higher pixel density, pure android, reported to be faster, perceived to have a more premium feel
Cons: No expandable storage... A bit heavier and thicker than the Samsung
Price: £379 for 64bg version (Google are knocking off £100 currently)
Any advice from people who've actually used them? Go for the Sammy you can expand the memory I rather wait till the s3 is coming out price may drop the google has better updates to its op system Check ASUS ZENPAD Z580CA Pixel C.Nvidia X1 processor. It beats the S2 in at least 70% of the performance tests.
to quote from the test below
As for the hardware, the first thing to talk about is the SoC. Tegra X1 is very fast on both the CPU and GPU sides, and as far as Android tablets go it offers the best graphics performance that you can get.
The Google Pixel C Review Thanks. Damn, the Samsung S2 looks quite bad in tests, coming last in many...
reading the review you sent, sounds like "neither" is the answer. Maybe S3 will be better. I have the S2. It is a superb tablet considering it has been out on market for 15 months.... I've got the S2 and was considering changing to a Pixel C but not sure if it's enough of an improvement to warrant the change?
I've never had a "pure" android device, generally always been a Samsung user.
Any thoughts? go for it, you will never look back (in anger) I realise you can't add an sd card, can you use USB otg?
Thanks I went for a Pixel C and keyboard case, seemed quite a decent reduction. The reviews look good, my tab S2 has a cracked screen and I never rated the speakers so ready for a change.
