I didn't post in the iPad subforum for that very reason but point noted, just need to work out if I can in Tapatalk.
Edit: I've updated the title.
Looking at the iTunes website this https://www.avforums.com/attachments/screenshot_2014-12-17_18-47-51-png.538191/ screenshot seems to disagree with you.

The new version is horrible and is so bad in its presentation that I stopped using it.
I have rolled back to 4.9.5, which was the last good version I used, but wish there was a way to suppress individual app update notifications in the Play store, so that I can safely use Update All without including Tapatalk.

You can, while on the Tapatalk app details in the play store click the 3 dots for the menu and untick the autupdate option.

Thanks, but I'm not referring to auto update, as I don't use it. I'm referring to the list of apps with updates available. I wish you could stop certain apps from appearing in this list.

You can detach apps from the market if you have root using titanium backup.
Alternatively uninstall the market version and install the normal APK sourced from the internet and it shouldn't link to the store.

The second option still does this

Mmmm that used to work, maybe something has changed with the store app picking up apps.
Titanium should still work but does need root.

OK so I've been looking into this a bit more, it would seem that something has changed in the market app, unfortunately as well as the store being better at linlking apps to the market version when installing manually it has also broken the detach from market function in Titanium as well, it works but only temporarily.
Imthjink I've found a solution which involved resigning the APK file using an app called zip signer from the market.
1. Download zip signer from here: ZipSigner - Android Apps on Google Play
(Zip signer doesn't need root)
2. Down an APK of version 4.9 from one of the many sources on the internet, I had the APK backed up by titanium backup so just used that.
3. Use zip signer to resign the APK file with test keys
4. Make sure Tapatalk is removed and then simply install your new APK you created in step 3. You'll need the "unknown sources" option ticked in the security section of Android settings.
And voilĂ all done.
I do have my resigned APK file available but I'm not going to post modified apps on here but drop me a PM if you want it. Having said that its really simple to make your own resigned APK file.
