Ipad or alternative
Hi guys,Had a brief play with a friends iPad today, and was impressed by how slick it was, and a pleasure to use. Got me thinking, should I treat myself.
I've always used Android phones ever since my iPhone 4 got knicked (thats another story, but obviously a long time ago), and what puts me off the iPad is the "stuck with Apple" nature.
Are there any other tablets out there with a similarly slick feel, and with an equally nice display?
The only tablet i've owned and still have is a Samsung Tab 3 10.1. I was disappointed with it. It cant handle much at all without shutting apps down, and it just isnt anywhere near as nice to use as the iPad, but to be fair its half the cost.
So the iPad is around £400. Anything else to look at around the same, or less? I heard NVidia do nice tablets, but are these mainly for gaming?
Thanks for any help. I got a Pixel C from the Google store for £300, plus £70odd for the keyboard, which I am moving to from my iPad 2017. Being blunt, the android tablet experience is always going to feel a little rough around the edges compared with an iPad, but frankly, I enjoy the Pixel C more. It's far more customisable, and feels a bit more powerful and flexible in comparison. Also for me iOS 11 made the iPad worse for me. It's not perfect, obviously, but it's a nice change from an iPad and neatly avoids that locked in feeling you get (which I also didn't like). Cheers WAM,
I think I need to go to Currys or somewhere and have a play with a few.
