New tablet (Lenovo)

I am looking to replace my Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016) with a similar sized Lenovo but am not sure which way to go. I need it to watch watch films whilst in hospital for the few days I need to spend there on occasion. I like gaming, solitaire, connect three and the like.
So far have looked at the Lenovo Tab 4 Plus and theLenovo Yoga Tab 3 Plus.

Anyone any thoughts?

I've literally had my Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 Plus for 2 days. See the "Recommend Android Tablet" thread and I must say it's only day 2 but it's a great bit of kit. Lovely screen and I got it for £249 (did a price match with AO as Argos have them for cheaper and I also got free next day delivery!

It's for the wife who is a heavy youtube watcher, email, Facebook and candy crush addict. It's perfect. If you want to watch movies then you are in for a treat with that sturdy stand and 18 hour battery life.

Saw the thread earlier mate. Thanks.

Followed you mate, did a Price Match with AO and bought theLenovo Yoga Tab 3 Plus. John Lewis also matched the price but you have to pay full whack and then claim back the difference. Thanks again.

What do you guys thinking of watching it on your lap, as opposed to using the stand to put it on a desk? Looks like a great tablet, but heavier than the competition.

Simply out of curiosity, why did you feel the need to upgrade? From the Samsung?
I had a play with that Tab A in-store a few days ago and seemed very nice, great screen and nice snappy screen response.
Was it down to the power? More graphics intensive uses so you needed something with more Ooomph?

It was not so much I was upgrading from the Tab A as upgrading my wife's tablet. I get a new one and she gets the Tab A as her older Samsung was really struggling.

You could always give her the new one instead data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

I'm really really eager to hear, after you'd had your new tablet perhaps a day or so, how you feel it compares to the Samsung Tab.

Just playing between the Lenovo Tab 4 Plus (not the one you are getting) and the Samsung Tab A. I was very taken with how clean the whites and screen in general was on the Samsung, and how fast and quick the Samsung screen was to scroll left and right.
I knew it was lower powered, but if I had not have known I would have said, just be using the UI the Samsung was the faster device.

Hence I'm really keep to see how your new Lenovo Tab 3 plus, with it's different chipset compares against the Samsung.

Still playing around with it at the moment and yesterday evening it upgraded fro 6 to 7.1 and I am sure you know that an upgrade always means moving stuff around, so you need to relearn so to speak.

I think I was looking to move away from Samsung not because I don't necessarily dislike their tablets but they do love their bloat and nagware, On the Tab A I really did not like the home button ETC on the side it it was to easy to press it inadvertently.

My good lady had theGalaxy Tab 4 which was getting a bit sluggish even after a factory reset but a nice bit of kit in it's day.

Yet to watch a film on the Yoga yet to compare screens.

Indeed, I agree, Looking at all the Samsung Tablets, I will admit, the physical home button at the bottom/side of the screen was something i was not keen on, as all my other tablets had buttons around the edges.

That was a little negative for me, as were the speakers just on one end, though to be fair, there did seem plenty of volume there.

I was flipping between the Lenovo Tab 4 and the Samsung, about arms length away from each other (the security cord did not quite reach so I could physically drag! them side by side)
But, just looking at the whites on backgrounds of the Android UI.
The whites were cleaner, as were the colours on the Samsung when you had them side by side.
And when I flicked the screen to swipe across screens, the Samsung was vert snappy and responsive.
Just on that alone, at that moment, I would not have bought the Lenovo Tab 4, as the Samsung just felt way faster. (I know the CPU/GPU isn't as fast but the front end/user experience was very much so.

Annoyingly the Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 has been powered down both times I've been there data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
Given the Yoga Tab is a totally different machine to the newer Tab4, I was hoping to try it out.

I'm going past there this morning, so will probably pop in again. data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
