why has my new iPad pro got hundreds of spam mail?
just setting up my new iPad pro ,and went into mail to find hundreds of spam mail some going back years . Any idea whats happening please ? What's the email address. If it's a Gmail address they're automatically sorted into categories so you don't see them in the inbox, they'll be stored under different categories. I use Inbox in an Android device and have various folders including promotions, updates and a few others that all the crap goes into.If you set the address up on a standard IMAP or POP client all of these emails will be in your inbox, I see similar behaviour with a generic email client on my windows laptop. Thanks Jamie,my email is a virginmedia.com.
Its on IMAP client so would concur with what you say inc generic email clients on Windows. A quick Google says Virgin migrated from using Gmail to their own service a couple of years ago. I guess it's not within the realms of possibility that the VM service does a similar sort of inbox filtering. How did you previously access the email before setting up on the iPad? i have a 27inch iMac that i bought new . I set up the same way ,but its been a long time ago .
