Sticking a tablet to a fridge - Magnets?
I kind of fancy the idea of sticking one of my tablets to the side of my fridge as a music/podcast type control device.Naturally I don't wish to damage either the fridge or the tablet.
Likewise, would be nice to remove the tablet is needed.
Also ideally no plastic grips/frames/surrounds.
And of course I don't want it to fall off!
The obvious idea I thought was sticky back plastic magnetic sheet, like you have on those shopping list fridge magnet sheets.
Sticky back onto the rear of the tablet, perhaps a square in each corner, just to its enough to hold on the fridge.
Would low power magnets on the back of a tablet harm it at all?
Any other ideas welcome or links to cheap data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 products.
I want to stay well away from suction cups as they can just decide to let go on day, then CRASH !!!!
Thanks for any suggestions data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 Something like this, which is way more than I'd need....

Thoughts? How about Velcro Pads
https://www.amazon.co.uk/s?k=velcro pads&hvadid=80333100092045&hvbmt=be&hvdev=c&hvqmt=e&tag=mh0a9-21&ref=pd_sl_8qzgu6hq56_e Great alternative idea thanks.
I will totally consider this, just need to pick the right velcro. Or rather "hook and loop" as it's supposed to be called if it's not the genuine brand. Velcro get a bit upset about this I've heard.
Just need to be sure about how grippy it it.
Some velcro, is made to hang pictures and keep speaker cabinet grills on, and it almost impossible to pull apart, other stuff very easy.
Will look into this. I did have a roll of sticky back Velcro years ago, but not seen it for a while.
Will take a look
Again, thanks for great idea. Yes I would guess you need to do a bit of research as there will be different grades of velcro or hook and loop as it is also known.
I put the link up so it was a generalisation of velcro. Hope it works out okay whatever you decide to do. Velcro has its place but I'm not a fan. If you go that way look at Pedalboard Velcro on eBay. 2"wide and quite grippy.
A less obtrusive solution would be adhesive backed neodymium magnets on the back of the tablet. But be aware that some models shut off the screen when a magnet is applied. Book cover type cases for example. Thanks.
Well, my initial thought was very thin, like 1mm sticky back plastic magnet sheet.
Stuck perhaps on the corners and middle of the tablet, so did not add any bulk, and it would simply stick onto the metal side of the fridge.
Not super strong, but just enough to stop it sliding down All sticky back products (especially the 3M hook and loop stuff) lose their stickyness over timeand it will crash to the floor at some point.
Likewise the adhesive can mark the fridge. Hmmmm, thanks for the tip.
A4 plastic magnet sheet (shopping list type thing) cut to size, and double sided tape may be an interesting option.
