Netgear x4s D7800 on sky
Hello.I just bought a Netgear x4s D7800 and am trying to set it up on sky fibre but the Netgear genie isn't working.
I am getting the screen shown in the image below, what do I do?
I haven't set a router up before so laymen's terms would be helpful. See the last post in this thread:
Help Needed with Netgear D7800 Setup Thanks for the reply.
Where did that user got things like the client identifier string? Where do I look for this kind of thing?
I know my mac address. Is the client identifier string not available in the software settings on your sky router? Not that I can see Ok do NOT setup router using the auto wizard. Choose the manual setup option and then from isp drop down list, choose Sky. Then if you get dhcp option 60 & 61 boxes, just enter anything in them. Try that first. Anything at all? I could just type "1" in there? just type any gobbledeegook but at least a few characters eg

Also ensure the firmware on the D7800 is up to date (latest is 1.0.1.47). Better to do this before setting up the router as the latest firmware will probably have dsl modem firmware updates. Also worth reading this - its for the D8500 but it should also apply to the D7800:
Solved: Re: NightHawk X8 D8500 VDSL Connection to SKY Fibr... - NETGEAR Communities I shall have s read and try again tomorrow, I've had enough for today.
