HP Microserver N40L Windows 10 Help

Well I just upgraded to windows 10 from 7 which went smoothly apart from now having no internet access due to it claiming there is no ethernet cable connected?

Is there a driver update I need to get this sorted?

Many thanks

I've not done the upgrade to Windows 10 on my Microserver yet. However when I did the 8.0 to 8.1 upgrade I needed to update the BIOS to get the onboard network card working.

Might be worth checking you have the latest BIOS.

I had the same thing when I upgraded to 10.....couldn't get it to work at all..

...reverted back to 7 and eventually got it to work.....

I did have to enter the router settings, do a quick set up ...and re-enter my isp password which was missing.

don't know if doing that while in windows 10 would have worked ?

by the way...got a 54L heading my way...does anyone know if which version of win 7 I need to use.....32 or 64 bit ?.....or either?

If any one comes across this thread , the solution is to update your bios.

HP have appeared to made it difficult to get the bios direct from them so you will have to search around, here Hp N54L Proliant microserver network driver (Windows 10) is another thread with more info and solution for the N40L

Glad I haven't upgraded mine yet. Running The Bay BIOS so have six drives running. If I have to load latest BIOS? Will I lose the Six drive functionality?

Did you give it a go and upgrade to Win 10? I haven't done it yet but wanted to try today?

OK, Installed Win 10 Pro and got the usual network card issue. Found the correct Broadcom driver 17.2.0.2 but would not install as said latest driver installed, (Microsoft 17.2.0.1)

Currently have 5 HDD's on SATA ports   1 HDD running on the ESATA port.

I'm running "The Bay BIOS" for extra features and believe I need to update the BIOS to Stock HP 2013.10.01 (A) (15 Nov 2013) to get the network card working correctly. There is also a mod version which I believe will also give same extra features SP64420.exe

My question is, can I update from "The Bay Mod BIOS" to Stock HP BIOS without bricking server.

Most of the latest info I found HERE

Did you ever find the answer to this? I'm in the same situation; modded BIOS and just updated to Windows 10 and now no Ethernet connection!
