ASUS STX II Op Amp upgrade, worth it?
Hello:I recently upgraded my hifi equipment to a pair of Monitor Audio Silver 100's and an Onkyo TX8270 with my pc acting as music server via my Asus Xonar STX II soundcard and I have to say Im really happy with it.
However, for some time I've been thinking about building myself, a New AM4 Ryzen pc but taking some components from my old build such as my graphics card and STX II soundcard but at the same time, upgrading the Op Amps on my soundcard from the standard to I believe 2 dual and 1 single bryston audio v6 vivid or classic op amp chips, would this provide a noticable improvement in sound quality worth the asking price of almost £160? Not to mention the almost 1.5 inch clearence they will need when the card is reinstalled.
Thanks,
Christian
