Thanks folks. So the display port adapter goes into the gpu, the hdmi 2.0 connects other end of the adapter, and then to the denon avr, correct? And this will allow me to have a 4k resolution at 60hz? Oh got the new hdmi cables, made no difference as you's stated! Still don't know why asus advertise that card as supporting 4k monitors, if it's only at 30hz (although that bit is left out)

Yes you connect it to the G card via Display port end and HDMIend to TV.

Your G card can do 60hz at 4K but just through display port which monitors usually have and TV's never have them. This is what caused your issue of losing 60hz at 4K.

But with the adapter people here have told you to get it will work from Display port to HDMI TV port.

Many thanks, I actually have to the connect the hdmi from the adapter into the denon avr 2300w, if I dont, i'll not get my home cinema sound, and just the TV sound. The denon says HDCP 2.2, I'll assume this is compatible? If not, would i then need another adaptor for the denon?

It sholud be compatible if the Denon AVR has HDCP2.2 which as I think you know is the encryption systen for HEVC the codec used for 4K and HDR content.

I am not sure becuase I do not know anything about display ports! Never used one only DVI, VGA, HDMI etc. What version display port does your G card have? that adapter you have linked is display port 1.4. Check the version of your display port it might be on box if you have it of G card if not your gonna have to google search your G card to find out.
