Where is the bottleneck occuring

When i'm running some very heavy apps or multiple ones (including that memory hog chrome with some 10 tabs open) .. i do get some strange lag occuring if i'm playing music..

I think... it might be the cpu but im not sure and would just like a confirmation if it is.

Are you running latest BIOS 1607 ?

PRIME B450M-ABIOS & FIRMWARE | Motherboards | ASUS United Kingdom

Are all drivers up to date?

Assuming your running W10, which version are you on. Type Winver in search then open, you can then see the version and build numbers.

If you're having audio related issues than knowing your audio setup would be useful. How is the audio device connected?

Does it happen with all audio played back through different software?

Audio isn't very demanding so I'd be inclined to think you're hitting a bug rather than a bottleneck.

So do these lags only occur when you use SAM or do you get them when playing a cd from the PC, or music from Youtube etc as well?

When i'm running a lot of stuff..... My ram usage never goes above 65% even with swap i can confirm thanks to rainmeter.

It's just more noticeable the lag when i broadcast when i try loading more songs from the hard drive to the player as its in use or if i am switching from the player to say a browser tab etc. It's not from word go either.. usually starts kicking in after a good hour or so

forgot to mention... WD 1tb 7200rpm is the storage hd.. the crucial has just the os
