MSI bios failure

CPU: Ryzen 3700x

Mobo : MSI B450 gaming plus

This happens whenever I enter the bios menu, and this is causing everything else to fail, or so I believe. I can't install windows as it crashes on the loading icon. So far I have tried different bios updates, different USB sticks, clearing CMOS. Having no drives attached. Have tried a few other things but can't remember at this point tbh.

To update the bios via the Flash BIOS port the USB stick has to be formatted to FAT32, was that what you used?

Have you tried F6 in BIOS to load optimised BIOS?

What happens if you remove some of the memory modules and swap the slots around?

Are you using the integrated graphics?

Are any of the Debug LED's on?

If you have tried all there is then it might be the MB has an issue. How old is the MB, is it still under warranty?

Yh, I did use FAT32, I also checked it was usb 2.0 because I heard it has a better success rate than 3.0. I have one stick of ram for the moment, I will try it in another slot. Unfortunately no integrated graphics, but will try my brother's spare GPU. Also no debug lights. Motherboard is brand new opened it Sunday morning.

Was that CPU supported with the BIOS that was shipped with the mobo?

Edit:

This board?

Can you access a non-3000 CPU?

... and that's in DIMMA2?

According to the MSI Website the CPU is supported, however make sure you follow the instructions exactly for flashing the BIOS Support For B450 GAMING PLUS | Motherboard - The world leader in motherboard design | MSI Global as well as making sure it is the correct version.

Hope this helps

Bill

No the default bios did not support ryzen 3000 chips. And no I don't have any other CPUs unfortunately. The ram was dimma2 but have now changed it and it may be working better. Will keep you guys up to date
