What internal 5ghz wifi card will replace this, photo attached?
What internal 5ghz wifi card will replace this, photo attached? Old PC can't pick up wifi so presume it's this old wifi card, BT is 5ghz so want to replace it with a new 5ghz decent wifi card, any ideas what board connection it is thanks and what would upgrade it? Pic attached. Thanks Thought we had answered this one.
It's a PCI type connector which plugs into a PCI slot on your MB. It's a half height board but has a full height bracket.
Model number is TP-Link TL-WN350GD 54M Wireless PCI adapter card, operating in the 2.4 Ghz band. But it is a very limited card.
You can get loads of PCi wirless cards that operate in both the 2.4 or 5 Ghz bands. Or you can go for a USB wireless dongle that will do the same thing but probably better.
Haven't posted a link to any this time as it all depends your budget.
What system is it out of, assume you have USB's on it?
If you need more help then let us know. You won't find many 5Ghz PCI cards as PCI connections are now becoming legacy
I could find this at an eye watering £140 ish

If your board has a PCI-e connection you have a far wider choice, otherwise go for a 5Ghz USB wifi dongle such as this
ASUS-USB-AC55-Generation-Dual-Band-Wireless-AC1300 Thanks guys so can anyonelink to what I need to buy please, ideally better then what I took out which could only get 1 bar of wifi even when next to router.

NETGEAR A6100 USB Wireless Adapter - AC 600, Dual-band Why? Because it didn't install or just didn't work on the wifi side?

Don't forget 5GHz wifi although faster does have poor penetration, so if you are some distance from the router or have some sort of wifi interference any 5GHz dongle may have difficulty. You may want to get BT to check out the router out or see if they will supply you with a better one It installed but stopped the logitech wireless mouse and keyboard working. We then used a wired mouse, the dongle seemed to not find a wifi signal. "Thanks guys so can anyone link to what I need to buy please, ideally better then what I took out which could only get 1 bar of wifi even when next to router."
If the old wifi card can only pick up the 5GHz wifi signal right next the router and the new card couldn't either, then I suspect there is a fault with the router. Also Try to install the new dongle onto another PC just to check it isn't faulty.
