Asus Vivobook SSD installation advice (pics attached)
Hi all,I would like some advice please.
I have the following laptop, i5 version ASUS VivoBook S15 S530UA | Laptops | ASUS United Kingdom
I've noticed it has an empty HDD bay (image below) and I have a spare 256gb 3.5" SSD that I could put there. Any advice on what bracket and cable (I see there is a 'HDD' connection top left of the bay) I would need to accomplish this. Also, if it were possible to do would there be any cons to doing so.

If its not possible could you advise on a decent compatible 512gb (or higher) replacement for the current M.2 SSD drive (image below)

Thanks in advance
Joe If you look on ebay for Asus vivobook S15 HDD you will find the cable to connect a drive to that connector however I do not see any brackets for that screw hole. Not sure of the right keywords to search for or they simply are too rare to locate.
Crucial have a compatibility checker on their website you can run certain models through and they say their 1TB M2 SSD is compatible. Hi, thanks for replying.
After posting I did search for the bits and have ordered a cable from ebay, I just thought I'd check here in case someone new of a good place to get these things. Also I eventually found an Asus spare part website (French company) with the bracket for about £12 and approx £14 delivery! So I'm thinking of installing the SSD using some velcro or tape of some sort. The other question was, could there be a possible issue with the SSD getting hot? If you take a look at this video I found at 1min 40sec, the HDD looks like it has some sort of silver backing on it? Sorry the link to video didn't work for some reason! Here's a screenshot

It will be a data drive only, I don't intend to use it as a system drive.
I'll take a look at the Crucial SSD, thank you. Are Crucial a good/reliable brand would you say?
Joe Crucial are a reliable brand.
The silver sticker you describe could be thermal tape for reflecting heat or something like that. I would guess it wont be an issue as SATA SSD drives typically consume less power than HDD's so run cooler. Superb, thank for your help.
