Lenovo X1 Carbon or MacBook Pro?

Hi
I am a graphic designer and website designer. I primarily use Adobe cc. I've had a very reliable MacBook Pro for 9 years and it can still just about do the job. It was expensive at the time but I've more than got my moneys worth.

I now need an upgrade but the MacBook pros are very expensive now. Is the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon going to be a reliable machine for my needs? And built to last?

Anyone have an opinion on this machine? Thanks

Or perhaps the t480 / t480s

Reliability and longevity are key
I like things that feel solid and well built.

High end Lenovo Thinkpads are great machines. I've had my X1 Carbon (5th Gen) for just over an year and its superbly built, looks gorgeous, superb IPS screen, very light and comes with many business grade features. I imagine the 6th gen X1 Carbon will be even better.

I've never had a T series Thinkpad but heard great things about them as well. Though I imagine they will be a heavier d/t being meatier than the X1 series.

Nothing wrong with the machine, if I had to have a non Mac I would likely go there. However when you truly compare like for like they are not materially cheaper, if you find it cheaper then you likely have compromised on features that aren't that important to you in the laptop.

And if all you do is Adobe CC then you'll be fine. I had to use one earlier this week and I was instantly frustrated about little things but they are there constantly; as simple as 2fa with an sms code. Or installing a javascript compatible development environment.
