Something for the Missus

My wife, fancies a new Laptop/Chromebook.As I am using a 9 year old Toshiba, I am not in a position to give her good advice.

She likes to access Amazon, look at clothes etc. Read emails, and play free downloadable games, such as jigsaws etc.

No work, or serious stuff involved.   So what should I get her, laptop or chromebook1TB or reasonable amount of memory.   I can spend around £300 to £400.

Any advice to get something reliable and lightweight would be very welcome.    Thanks.

Chromebook would be just fine, does exactly that with low maintenance.

How about a tablet? Something like an iPad is light, has good battery life and they are reliable & easy to use.
My wife loves her iPad and uses it for much the same sort of things as your wife. Brand new they are over budget (if wanting a lot of storage), but have a look around for a second hand one and that should fit the budget. However with iCloud online storage you can get away with less on the iPad than you might think.

There are of course also Android tablets that offer similar specs and often for a lot less money.

Mark.

Thanks for the advice guys.   Sadly Mark, she prefers the larger screen. At present she is using Acer Aspire 17", and quite heavy.   Tablet would be to small.
