Sony vaio pcg-61814m backlight fuse location
anybody able to help me. I’m trying to find the backlight fuse on my Sony vaio PCG-6181M picture attached I believe it's on the back of the MB and might be labeled F15. It's difficult to get a view of your exact MB but will take a look around to see if I can pin it down. Are there any more numbers on the base of the lappy re the product model to help to pin it down exactly?https://www.avforums.com/attachments/upload_2019-7-18_12-28-25-png.1174245/ I will have a look tonight and post up a picture of the other side of the board thanks for your response Think that’s all identifying numbers from the board as well as the reverse area you were pointing out in the previous image
Thanks again Okay I will take a look at the photos
The numbers I was referring to are on the base plastic not the MB. Ohh sorry heres the other numbers Not quite sure on this one as it's very difficult to get the info on this exact MB. F13 and F16 are fuses so check them out for continuity.
https://www.avforums.com/attachments/upload_2019-7-19_11-23-30-png.1174511/ Ok will do thanks for your help Ok so it seems to be f16 labeled N so final question where do I get replacement or what can I use in its place from another motherboard. Chances of getting an exact replacement are very slim. From what I understand this is a 2 amp fast acting SMD type fuse, they come in many variants re numbering,so one of these would probably be okay but it's your call

As a quick look and see if F16 is your problem you could always use a very thin strand of wire, thickness of a hair, soldered across F16 to run a quick test to see if it resolves your issue. If it does then solder a proper device in there by removing the temp wire and F16.
