Pc upgrade for Quest Link questions?
Sorry if wrong section.I'm getting an Oculus Quest asap, but in preperation im trying to get a VRPC set up specifically for quest link,
I have a old works pc with these specs
Cpu: intel i5-6400 @2.70
Ram: 8GB
Gpu: GeForce GT 730
Now i know the GPU is not good enough as i did the valve vr test

I can upgrade the Ram to 16 GB, but can anyone advise on a gpu that will be capable of VR?
Motherboard is a Dell 0C2XKD, with PCI-Express
Any advise is helpful. Sorry not very knowledgeable with pcs. Yeah, the GT 640 v2/GT 730 was fairly marginal for demanding gaming even when it launched in 2013.
AMD's RX 5000 series is currently on top but it's just been launched and is a bit sparse consisting of pair of beefy upper mid-range cards in the RX 5700and RX 5700XT and a mainstream card in the RX 5500 which is only just starting to become available (in pre-built systems)
Oculus' recommended specs are a GTX 1060 or RX 480. The 1060 is still available and competing cards are the RX 570/580 and GTX 1650, as well as the new RX 5500.
The 1060 and 570/580 are older cards that'll consume more power for the same performance compared to the RX 5500 and GTX 1650.
There's also a GTX 1660 Super sitting in the middle at around the £220 mark offering to split the difference. We'll presumably see an RX 5600 drop in there at some point, but not soon enough if you need it ASAP.
I'm not familiar with VR kit and games so I can't really advise on how much benefit you'd get from going up to an RX 5700. Thanks, i think for the moment ill just stick with the quest wireless, and look for a VRPC set up down the line. I was hoping to build on something i already had but its probably going to be more efficiant to go for a new build when i can afford it.
Thanks
