which PC software to edit 4K ?
Hi,I have already got installed Adobe Premiere Pro CS3. sure thats before 4K was even thought of.
I dont want to have to go cloud which the latest version will require, apart from that I cant even get it to like mpg, it was designed for avi and is happy with such.
I am wondering what editing software there is to edit out unwanted sections of my 4k footage, add in extra sound channels, output as 4k and also downscale to HD, for folk who dont have bluray players. I have bluray writer as well as standard DVD.
if it has extra clever green screen (add in effects) options all the better.
an ability to capture stills from the 4K footage would be good as I have use of such for photogrammetry as well as just getting photos which can be stunning.
A 'scrubbing' mode to advance frame by frame fwd and backward is essential.
Intuitive interface and controls welcome.
Sound adjusting controls essential., and saying again, ability to add in extra sound tracks, remove existing if need be, add in extra layers of clips etc.
If it also was stable at editing mpg footage created from DVD_RTAV folder type videos (output from my Panasonic DVD Bluray HDD recorder player via DVD_RAM discs to PC,then quickstream fixed in VideoRedo, that would be most welcome.
Womble springs to mind for that.
Merlin cyberlink powerdirector 16will do all you ask, like all software there is a learning curve,i find it good and PD 14 which i still use as well. Hi,
Many thanks indeed, I will give that a test drive. It looks affordable as well. a one off purchase also what I wanted, hate/wont do subs.
Cheers
Merlin No open source applications available? Virtualdub2 works well with 4K sources...
You can import directly, convert to intraframe intermediates easily for 'smooth' timeline scrubbing and frame accurate cuts - even on modestly powered machines.
Bit of a learning curve for more exotic edit procedures, but excellent quality results ... and of course it's free!....
