/\/\/\ I switched to Linux a couple of years ago for day to day use, so open source software is the order of the day. I have a W10 PC too but its hardly used apart from encoding & when I can't use the Linux PC for what I want to do.

I wonder that no-one has mentioned file-types....many consumer camcorder produce mts files AVCHD, and I don't think DaVinci accepts this.... the file-type ProRes appears the accepted format andit's an Apple file-type . . . so this may limit folks to Canon DSLRs / Camcorders of the Professional types...


Anyone?

Very good point and while not ideal their are a lot of file converters around.
