I think it will be more enjoyable for me to see the actual colors that i want on the screen rather than adjusting other camera's colors to match the canons. I think that i want this P&S experience for myself.
I'm pretty satisfied with the demo footage that I've seen on youtube, the question is if it's a reliable device since i didn't find a lot of reviews on it.
How are the ergonomics? Battery life? Is it knwon for freezing or other issues? Can it survive a light rain (they added some fans to the camera).. Did anyone had a chance to shoot with her? Some user reviews here
Canon Vixia GX10 4K Ultra HD Camcorder | Reviews | SmartReview.com For me the dual pixel autofocus on the Canon would make this my camera of choice especially for run and gun shooting where fast and accurate focussing is required. Also it's a video camera, you're going to shoot videos, and I find the form factor and design of video cameras so much easier to use for that purpose.
I use a Canon C100 and find the dual pixel autofocus sytem an absolute delight to use - responsive, accurate and predictable.

Do you know if it can record both from the internal mic and the external mic plugged into the 3.5mm? And about the battery.. how long will I get to shoot in average on 4k 60p? (i guess its the same with the XF400 if somebody owns it..)
I'm planning to use this camera with my Rode video mic pro. Plugging in an external mic usually switches off the internal mics, but here's a link to the GX10 instruction manual on the Canon site which you might find informative both for this and battery life.
I use the Rode video mic from time to time and I'm pleased with the results (this is the model with the red coloured lyre supports). Do you have a furry windshield for it yet? If not and you are thinking of getting one for your expedition I have to say I have been disappointed with the Rode windjammer and you might like consider getting the Rycote windjammer instead. The model number I believe is 055465 for that mic. I haven't tried it yet but I have Rycote windjammers on my Sennheiser mics and they always amaze me with their efficiency at reducing (eliminating almost) all wind noise.
Just something to think about IMHO. I got a Rycote windjammer for my zoom h2n but the rode windjammer for the rode video mic.
I will go and test it tomorrow on the beach, and if it won't satisfy me I will consider getting the model that you are recommending!
Do you also have a recommendation for fur for a Sennheiser lav mic?

I think that my film will be in 30fps, because most of the festivals today won't accept 60p.
Will it be a problem to shoot 60fps and then just place it on a 30fps timeline / convert the files to 30fps?

We are 50P but i have often recorded in 50P mode but rendered the edited film out at 25P and there is no problem ,but if slow motion is needed or a lot of fast movement is in the film i would render out at 50P,good luck with your project. Is the downscaled video from GX 4k footage into FHD will be much different quality than the video from Canon G21? Maybe if the film will be screened in hd, i should just get the G21? Rycote is my go-to for windjammer solutions and they make both acoustic foam (for lighter breezes) and windjammers (for near gale force winds) for lavalier mics - check out their web site.
The windjammer for lavaliers can look like a small furry creature on the talent's neckline but I have used it in very strong winds with amazing attenuation of wind noise. Rycote have apparently introduced a shorter haired version called the Ristretto.
Others have commented on the matter of 30/60 fps. I would say that the edit project should be set up in the format you have shot at and then rendered to your format of choice when the edit is complete. It shouldn't be a problem.
