This is what I bought
Pinnacle Studio 22 | Powerful Video Editing Software

I asked if my card was capable of running it and Pinnacle replied;

"
For the GPU requirements, the software needs at least
NVIDIA GeForce 700 series / Quadro 600 (Fermi-based) or newer (CUDA-enabled
required for CUDA support)"

My existing card is quite old-   GE610
GeForce GT 610 | Specifications | GeForce

But it is CUDA.   It says so on the box-but I don't know what it means.

CUDA® is a parallel computing platform and programming model developed by NVIDIA for general computing on graphical processing units (GPUs). With CUDA, developers are able to dramatically speed up computing applications by harnessing the power of GPUs.
Well you did ask.data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
My suggestion is that you try it first and then, if it does not work, go for the latest card.
The fact that your card has CUDA would suggest you should be OK.data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

Your next step is to aquaint yourself with Pinnacle. Hope you have experience in video editing to get you started.

Thanks for those comments, chaps, I'll follow up on them
Along with my purchase of Pinnacle I got twenty-odd weeks of free access to this;
Studio Backlot

I think I'm going to be happy with it-although it appears that there is a driver issue with my particular automatic download and install.I've emailed Pinnacle to see if they can shed any light on it.

Studio Backlot.
Try it with care. I found the presenter talks and talks before getting to the nub of the presentation. Plus it's not cheap when the free access finishes. My bet is, first, using the forum and then the Corel supplied tutorials.
Sorry to put a dampener on it but SB did not impress.

No frets-I won't be using it when the freebie expires.   I'll have covered all its chapters over the next week-   but I'm installing a new SSD as Pinnacle is causing some strange HDD behaviour.   I'm told it might be a driver issue.

Hello again-   it isn't my HDD that's ' hunting '-   the PC is constantly trying to access my media drives whenever Studio 22 is running.    Any ideas ?

You may get better advice than a general forum. The dedicated forums seem to respond more directly.
It is a long time since I tried Pinnacle Studio but there should be a recovery period if you don't like it. Personally I have had little trouble with VideoStudio.
