Best IPS TV?

What would you say is the best LED that uses an IPS panel and is there a big difference in drop of when viewing at an angle between the best VA panels and IPS panels?

If you want the best TV for viewing angles then it's OLED all the way.

In terms of IPS and VA it's more of a tendency as it also depends on other factors. If you look at the Canadian site rtings they do three measurements of how the picture quality changes at an angle, you can add the sub-type column for a quick IPS/VA reference.
Viewing Angle of TVs

While it's not all that useful for choosing a TV - they don't cover half the European models and some of the ones they have reviewed have a different panel here (sometimes an entirely different panel manufacturer). It'll give you an idea of how viewing angle varies between current TVs.

I currently use a Panasonic fx750 in my bedroom. I believe in terms of colour accuracy and video processing it's the best IPS based tv on the market right now.The software local dimming works very well for the most part but falls down slightly with letterbox movies .It is lit from the bottom. Also i have had a Samsung hu7500 which now is at my mom's house. In terms of viewing angles the IPS is way ahead. The VA on the samsung looks different from as little as a 20 degree angle. Straight on it's beautiful but move even slightly it degrades.I know the LG sk9500 hasfull array dimming but it's not very effective according to reviews. Also the video processing and colour won't be as good.Best go to check them for yourself. But if you can accept the display limits of IPS the Panasonic looks fantastic.

Sony XF85 (except 49 and 85”) is up there, alongside the Panasonic above. LG SK9000 is good but way overpriced.

Is the viewing angle really that bad with VA panels?

I do believe the Qleds are a little bit better. At the end of the day a television is about what you can live with.I'd be more than happy with a VA panel.Just bag the best seatdata:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

Going by the rtings test above they don't stand out in any measurement.

Sony's ZF9 is the TV to go for if you want the best combination of contrast and viewing angle from an LCD, or any TV if you're watching with enough ambient light that OLED is at a disadvantage.

As I say, it varies a lot depending on the individual panel Some are terrible, others offer performance comparable to a poor to middling IPS.

And that's assuming you're talking about contrast drop-off with angle. For colour consistency at an angle VA panels can be as good as some of the better IPS panels.

Every person's eyes are different. I like IPS displays for the colour and viewing angles and am very happy with my Panasonic. However i must add the viewing angles are only good horizontally. From above and below there is very little difference with VA so placement is important. The only display with no limitations in that regard is OLED.
