LG SK8100/SK8500 or Samsung QE55Q6FN
I've been looking at purchasing a new TV for a while now and think I've narrowed it down to two choices.I'm torn between the LG SK8100 (I'd also include the SK8500 as I can't tell what the difference is between the two...does anyone?) and the Samsung QE55Q6FN.
The TV will be used for watching Sky, Blu-Ray films, Netflix, Prime and gaming on PS4 Pro and Xbox One S.
Any help will be greatly appreciated as I can't make my mind up on what the best option would be. I have the SK8500 - it has much better HDR compared to the SK8100 thanks to its full array dimming. It doesn't have lots of zones, but it's certainly a heck of a lot better than the edge lit 8100 display.
The 9500 and 8500 are also brighter than the 8100.
While the SK8500 isn't a totally dark room TV - certainly compared to an OLED - in a daylight room or even a darkened (but not totally dark room) the performance is excellent. The peak brightness is very high which makes HDR really pop. Also interested in this question. Was comparing the sk8500 to the q6fn in curry’s as well yesterday.
