Out of the loop - Recommend me a current/upcoming display

65"
Up to about £2800
Mostly for gaming

e-ARC is a must
Low latency is a must
Good BFI is very desirable
HDMI VRR is a nice to have

Am I right in saying the 2019 Samsungs don't have e-ARC and the Sonys don't have VRR? Are there more 2019 sets coming from both or is that it for a while?

Thanks guys

Closest thing that ticks your boxes that I can think of is the LG 65 C9

Supports eArc, supports VRR, end of summer price will be well under £3k.

Either that or wait for the B9 to launch in July.

You’re right in saying that the Samsung 19 range doesn’t support eArc, and the Sony’s don’t support VRR

Thanks.

Anything LCD on the horizon that ticks most of these? I can't find anything obvious from the big few.

If LCD only, really just the high end LG NanoCells, such as the 65SM9800 - been reviewed as ok, but not blowaway standard

Possible stupid question, are we likely to see more from the likes of Samsung and Sony this year or generally, is what has been announced for the year usually it?

Might see a new product line from Sony in August at IFA to launch their new processors, in a new OLED and LCD/LED. Almost certainly supporting HDMI 2.1 if there is a release, with VRR and ALLM. That said however, knowing Sony, prices will be extortionate and line with the rest of the competition, because it’s a new model line.
