Phillips B50PUS6703 - Bluetooth ?
My first post and im afraid I am no expert !I am thinking of buying the Phillips 50PUS6703 | 50 inch 4K Ultra HD HDR Smart but am struggling to interpret the spec.
Please can anybody advice if this has built in Bluetooth capabilities ie so from my phone i can show pics or when lazy youtube etc ?
If not is there a budget adapter anyone can recommend? If you have an Android based phone the most reliable way to cast photos/videos is to get an AndroidTV based television which feature a built in Google Chromecast.
Philips makes AndroidTV sets however the 50PUS6703 (specs page) is not one of these, it does not have BT support according to the specs though you may still be able to cast youtube videos to it (bit of a gamble). The TV does have Miracast so you could screen mirror the phone.
This model the 49" PUS7803 has AndroidTV built in (spec page), not sure if there are AndroidTV cheaper models than that. Thankyou for your reply
I have an iphone so in theory I could cast photos or YouTube via miricast ? iPhone's don't support Miracast, there are third party app and dongles that can make it work but require various hoops to jump through. Also Miracast is display mirroring only.
For just Youtube you should be able to get that working, Youtube apps on TV's can talk to the phone Youtube app though it's not always reliable.
But for photos or videos that really needs Apple Airplay support, the only way to get that is buying an AppleTV which are not cheap even the older 4th and 3rd generation models on eBay still cost a bit.
The cheapest option for Airplay is a Raspberry Pi running Libreelec (Kodi media centre) which has basic built in Airplay support but this will not work with any protected web video, only personal photos and videos. Thankyou so much for your feedback.
