Very Strange, I thought I was the only one. I have a 55ZV635db. I have had the exact same thing. I started once around 4-5 weeks ago. Didn't happen again. It started again around 5 days ago. each morning I have to switch it off from the side button and put it on and then the remote will power the tv. Looks like it affects the ZV as well.
I must add it has been ok for the last 3 days.

I have received a message from Toshiba telling me that a fix is on the way, when it has been fully tested. It will be sent out on a USB memory stick with full instructions. I believe some other people have been told this as well.

There is now a firmware fix for this issue.
Please see the following website
Toshiba-OM.net
Please note that the HDMI audio issue which effected some models is also incorporated with the firmware for the standby issue.

I can confim that there is at present no OAUpdate planned for this issue.
Some users do not have aerials connected to their sets so firmware is created and made available for users. data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
If you feel concern at updating the firmware Toshiba can organise for the set to be updated.

I had not had any problems beforehand, that is, after I had turned off the auto update software & the auto update channel functions in the menus, followed by a power down. Since the firmware update, I have now turned on the auto update software but NOT the update channels. I found that to be a nuisance at it found Crystal Palace transmitter & the channel numbers went up into the 800's.
At the start of all this I did a retune with the aerial disconnected to clear everything, then I did a manual tune of the Bluebell Hill. I will have to do this again to get rid of the rubbish it found when the auto channel search was turned on.
