I never used the ATV or DTV stuff either. Just my Sky HD, Media Center, and my PS3 all of which on HDMI. I still had the stand-by bug, so I guess it is unrelated to the tuners. I had the auto update settings (and most others) on the default, which was to enable auto updates.

Still, at least the workaround works fine, and the update is on the way. Problem solved.

I have the same problem of not waking up from standby, The TV has been a bit weird the past couple of days, apart from the waking up problem, today it started but the "Timer is still running, do I want to cancel" box appeared. Every time I toggled to Yes the box diappeared before the yes appeared for me to confirm, all other buttons on the remote just toggled the "cancel" box on & off. Pulled the plug on it to clear.
I tried calling Toshiba, long delays they said, also heard a recorded message saying how to clear the not coming on from standby fault. Switch off for 10 secs then back on to standby, then switch on from remote. So it's a known problem.
I completed the technical support email contact with a list of faults. We have had the 37XV635 TV for 9 months

I called Amazon & they offered to give me a refund! No replacement TV as the model is no longer available. I had no joy in getting them to put me through to a Toshiba technician. The call centre sounded as if was in a faraway land.
Will try Toshiba again

Toshiba man told me that an overair update will go out by 28 September 2010 at the latest.
So make sure you have your software upgrade set to YES in the setup menu

Switched on from the remote OK this afternoon, there seemed a slight difference in that the red led changed to green straight away, then a long pause until the audible click is heard & the screen lights up.
After yesterdays changes in the setup, followed by the power down maybe that was all that is needed. I still have the software option set to YES for the supposed overair upgrade that I was told would be broadcast by next tuesday

I did understand what you were referring to, I peered into ours when I put it into standby for the night, green LED was lit, in the morning it was off.
If the standby fault occurs again I will look to see if that LED is lit or not.
