Loewe Connect ID 40 TV and Panason Blue Ray Remote issue
Asking for a friend, who Recently purchased a Panasonic Blue Ray Player (BD84) to connect to a Loewe Connect ID 40.The issue is that once the HDMI source is selected from the Loewe TV, the remote for the Blue Ray is disabled. This would normally not be an issue, but the Loewe remote does not contain all the functionality of the Panasonic (e.g. Netflix, Eject), even the physical buttons on the Blue Ray do not operate.
Does anyone have any insight on stopping the Loewe TV from seemingly taking over the device connected, or a way to get both remotes operating simultaneously, please?
Any advice would be appreciated. Sounds like an anynet / CEC / Viera Link / HDMI control issue.
Make sure Viera Link is turned off on the blue ray player and this should prevent the problem. It sounds like the TV is taking over the player and this should prevent this from happening. Thank you for the quick response. I turned off the HDMI-CEC (No Viera Link option it would seem), but now neither remote will control the Blue Ray. Very strange! Have you got another TV you can try the player with? You could also try a different cable, but I doubt that is the issue. Yes very strange. It would seem that the Loewe CEC cannot be disabled it seems. Now the Blue Ray powers up, works on its remote for a while and then stops operating. As the Blue Ray CEC is turned off, it now doesn't respond. Update. All working through the Loewe remote now, but the Loewe has no "Eject" button and the physical eject button seems to be disabled. Anyone know how this could be resolved (i.e. getting the drawer working through the Loewe remote.....the Panasonic remote is disabled. Note I turned CEC back on.
