Mine works without the power supply too. Yes it has lights on and seems to be functioning fine with ps4 pro, HDR etc. Didn't do anything special. Just got plugged some devices in. Weird inconsistency

Maybe the power supply just boosts the signal, so some people with short cables or high end cables don't need it. It does say this switch gives the HDMI signals a little boost, i guess it needs power to do that.
I got one on the way from Amazon just waiting for it to arrive to test.
I have a 4k Chromecast Ultra that i can't use at the moment. No ports left on TV and i don't want anything connected currently removed.

Yea lights on the front which light up when the HDMI cables are plugged in but as soon as the power goes in it all shuts off.

May be silly question. Have you tried yours without the power connected.

I got a email from Amazon. Mine has been dispatched i will post on here if i have any issues with it when it arrives etc. Shall i if it works without power cable connected to it even bother powering it?
