Scantronic or Texecom alarm?

Texecom ricochet or Scantronic wireless series, installed professionally.
what would you recommend?

Both same sort of prices (different installers)
I believe the Texe Premier is Grade 3, and Scantronic 9751 Grade 2...

I looked at Honeywell's Galaxy alarm, believe this is Grade 3 too, but more expensive, and not sure how that compared to a good Texe.

Thanks

I would pay the extra money personally and go for the Galaxy. They have a new panel which is called flex.

I have been fitting alarms for 10 years and it's the only panel I would fit and it's what's I'm my house.

Wireless has got a lot better in the last few years. We fitted a handful of scantronic wireless systems 9 years ago but stopped after problems.

They might of got better by now tho.

Thanks Andy.I had Scantronic (wired) in my last house and it was great.
I have heard good things about all the three I mentioned above, so just want opinions of those that have experience of all, for impartiality.

I'm sure either would do a good job, but I want a great job!

Not a problem, happy to advise.

If I could wire every system I would, wireless is always my last option.

Depending on the size of the property it may need rf repeaters.

We change every battery in every device every year and we still get calls for low battery's. If a battery gets cold it can also give problems.

Make sure your happy with your installer and they are local and will support you 24 7

I left my old company after 9 years as I got fed up with callouts from badly designed systems. Still do the odd bit of work but AV is my industry now.

Drop me a PM if you need any more info

I have been a long term user of wired Scantronic systems.I think they are one of the best for domestic / light commercial installations.

In 2008 I moved into a rented house for two years and as it didn't have an alarm I tried for the first time a wireless Scantronic system. I was very impressed.Dead easy to install (obviously). Config was simple, and it worked flawlessly for 24 months. No 'went off's'.No funny business. The latest version of the one I used is the i-on50EX.

Old Post revival.....

Next Question.... I went for the Texecom Ricochet. Now want something different.
Whats the latest tech out there for domestic properties, and can they reuse some of the existing kit I have... Maybe I just want a new panel and conbine it with CCTV!?

Thanks

Depends how involved you want to be?

Could try going for Honeywell Galaxy (as suggested before) or go for something with more HA flavour such as Cytech Comfort

Pyronix Enforcer is often compared to Texecom, can also work in sync with Hikvision cams.

@Xstyle what didn't you like about the Texecom?

@Munzz The Pyronix sounds interesting, especially with the integration with Hikvision cams.I'm not a fan of cloud platforms and lock-ins and I'm looking for a wired DIY solution. How much of the smart features can you use/access without using their cloud?
