With the Pyronix, were you able to download the install manual?Seems to be available only to installers/distributors I use shock sensors on the downstairs windows. Contact and PIR's would be too late, the burglar would have caused damage. Using a shock sensor the alarm will go off earlier and hopefully scare them off.
https://www.riscogroup.com/products/product/168 LOL, you think a burglar alarm is going to scare them off, think again. A burglar alarm is little more than a device to let other people know its going off. If they have decided they are breaking in and they know an alarm is present (bell box) it wont make one iota of difference. They will be more deterred by the time it takes to access and egress (good locks and windows). They are going to damage it whatever.
Shock sensors, glass break detectors, PIRs, reed switches, dual techs, pressure pads don't get hung up on the technology. Modern sensors all work pretty effectively. TBH glass break detectors are just as effective as shock sensors and you can cover an entire room with a single detector. I see the Ring Alarm is launching in UK on 7 November. From what I can see it has a number of similarities with Simplisafe as well as combining with other Ring cameras and Amazon Alexa.
No external bell box but can link to eg outdoor Floodlight or Spotlight cameras which have a siren
Could be one to consider I'm thinking...
