I went with this dresden elektronik ConBee II dresden elektronik ConBee II: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories

So far I only have the Hue Dimmer an a Xaiomi push button switch connected. Works well.

I’m running the Hass.io version of HA in a Hyper-V Virtual Machine running on a HP Elite Desk Mini PC with Windows 10. Then the Deconz ZigBee software runs on the Windows 10 OS directly.

The ConBee is a very well respected Zigbee Gateway and is widely supported. I am still using the philips Hue Hub for Zigbee purposes.

I was going to do that, but I very much like the idea of cutting the cloud “cord”.

At the end of the day it is basically a Zigbee controller attached to your home network. Should be able to.

Just checked and it can (d’oh).

Maybe Google can save Wink like what it did with Nest. data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

It depends if they want to buy it off Will I-am. It doesn’t really fit into their product range though. Personally I don’t see it surviving.

I believe Hubitat does the same, you link the Hue hub to the Hubitat hub, I've not tested it with Internet off though but it sounds like it works...."Once connected through the Hue Bridge Integration app, your bulbs can be used just as if they were directly paired with your hub.".

Actually, it much be local as you don't enter username/password.
