Help in choosing correct Hive product in Black Friday sale!
HiI'm looking to buy some hive products on BF sale right now.
I have two boilers in the house.
1) One is a combi boiler that does hot water and heating for the ground floor.
2) Second boiler is a conventional boiler that does HW and heating for upper floors. Uses a mega flo type cylinder for hot water storage.
Do I need exactly the same product for 1 and 2? ie this one?
Hive Active Heating and Hot Water Thermostat with Professional Installation: Amazon.co.uk: DIY & Tools Shop Hive Active Heating and Hot Water Thermostat with Professional Installation. Free delivery on eligible orders of £20 or more. www.amazon.co.uk
Thank you Also.
1) Is this the most current model? Is there a Hive 2?
2) In the advert it says the box 'contains thermostat and voucher for installation'. Doesn't it need a hub and receiver as well for full installation?
Thanks If you pay for installation the engineer will bring everything that’s needed other than the thermostat (which you’ll have)
If you bought that set x 2 then you’re set for both boilers but will end up paying more than necessary (don’t need 2 x hubs)
I just priced it up on hive and it came to £267 ish Yes current model. This is Hive 2 Thanks.
But don't I need two receivers? As they are two completely separate boilers I'm assuming I can't just have2 x thermostat and 1 x hub and 1x receiver?
What exactly did you price up to get £267?
Thanks for your help https://www.avforums.com/attachments/cfe267f0-b780-462f-8bc8-ea717e4a0b19-jpeg.1222812/ Thank you very much. I didn't realise that to control the second boiler I just needed to add another zone.
I slightly over simplified my set up earlier to avoid confusion. The loft floor is fed by the same set up as the first floor but is zoned off for ch via a separate honeywell controller and room stat.
Would I just add another multizone for £74?
Appreciate your help Yes so you need an additional zone for this. I would double check that hive can cope with 3 heating zones plus water (I’m pretty sure it can but worth checking anyway) Thanks, very helpful indeed! The website specifically says up to 3 zones.
