Philips Hue Automation Help Required

Hi

I have 2 Philips Hue outdoor Impress lights and an outdoor motion sensor.

As it stands the sensor is configured in Apple Home and Not Hue (as its one or the other as far as I can see).

I have a sunrise / sunset automation configured as follows:

If Sensor sees movement: Switch on Lamps to white@ 100% > Turn off after 3 Mins

This is fine as long as thats all you want to do but there are two things I want to do but can't find a way to do it:

1. Set a sunrise / sunset automation where if no movement is seen set lamps to 30%, If movement is seen raise lamps to 100% for 3 mins > After 3 mins if no movement revert to 30%

This kind of works by when I create 2 Automations, a no movement automation   a movement automation, but as soon as the sensor sees no movement it overrides the 3 minute timer on the movement automation.

2. Set a sunrise / sunset automation where lights can be manually set to a colour or scene, thenIf movement is seen change lamps white @ 0 for 3 mins > After 3 mins if no movement revert to previous scene / colour

This doesn't really work at all, if the lamps are purple @ 30%, when the automation is triggered the lights change as required to white @ 100% but then stay that way after the the 3 min timer expires.

Any ideas ?

Many thanks

Get a third party controller to provide more flexibility and proper state management. I use the Homey controller for similar to such scenarios.

Whilst I love the simplicity of HomeKit, it is a rather limited with anything more than the most basic rules. Experienced similar my self.

Try downloading the eve app. It can interface with HomeKit directly and capable of creating more complex rules with conditions. I actually found a YouTube video that does a half decent job of explaining. Whilst this relates to motion sensors, you can create more advanced rules for other devices and you don’t need to purchase anything. Might be of help.

The power is there when you combine it with a more advanced controller like a honey. You get the best of both worlds.
