Interested in getting smart lights myself. Our ceiling lights are E14 but with the dimensions of the Hue bulb which are candle shaped they will poke out to far past the shade. I can't find any E14 golf ball shaped, is there such a thing?
Cheers.

Cheers @Inked but not E14 either, unless I'm missing something.

Sorry, you’re right. I was sure they did an e14. Apologies.

Personally I stay well clear of the Hue White bulbs, they will leave you disappointed and won't demonstrate why Hue is so much better than any of the others. It isn't just that they are white only, it is also the gradations of diming. They simply do not provide that luxury feel and hence they are so cheap...
And no there are no e14 golf ball bulbs in the range. I must admit that is very odd shape for ceiling lights data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 I'd change the lights and improve the experience...

My living room wall lights didn't take the candle shaped bulbs for Hue either so I made new brackets for the insides which instead of having the bulbs vertical tipped them sideways to the bulbs didn't poke out the top of the fittings. Probably not much use in your situation but it is possible to make modifications if you need to.

I'd agree with most of that. The whites do have their place but white ambience (or colour) bulbs are so much better in every way. The fixed white bulbs don't dim as low as the others either so the lowest setting isn't quite low enough.
Not a problem in utility areas (understairs cupboard, garage etc) but in rooms you actually spend time in it's worth the extra IMO.

Yes fair points well made. I put some of those in our outside lighting to not let them go to waste.

I picked up some of the colour GU10 bulbs in the Amazon bf sale.I have since read that they are longer and wider than standard bulbs and so won't fit most fittings.
Does anyone know what fittings they do fit in?
