Adding Bluetooth to my hifi
Hi I've got myself some Bluetooth headphones. I have a amp that supports usb .Can I get an adapter so I can use my Bluetooth headphones with it,
Thanks You would need a Bluetooth Transmitter, to transmit from the Stereo to the Headphones.
Can you give us a working budget?
The only thing that I would be concerned about is Volume Control. Does the Headphone set have its own volume control?
Specifically what amp do you have? Likely the USB Ports on an amp are USB inputs.
If the amp has Pre-Amp outs, then that could be connected to a low cost Bluetooth Transmitter, and that should link with the Headphones. Though we would need to know the specific Brand and model of the Headphones too.
What you propose can be done in general, if and how you can implement it depends on the specific equipment you have.
Steve/bluewizard This will do what you want http://www.amazon.co.uk/Avantree-Portable-switchable-Bluetooth-transmitter/dp/B0085HOM4K
supports Apt-X as well if your phones have it. Yes, the Avantree Transmitter/Receiver is the one I was thinking of too, very reasonably priced, and is selectable between Transmit and Receive.
But we still need to know what equipment you have in order to make worthwhile recommendations. I would have thought that Bluetooth Headphones came with their own transmitter. Though I suppose the could be headphones made for Smart Phones and similar Smart devices. But that's just it ... I don't know.
The more we know about exactly what you have, the better we can help you.
Although ...likely... though not certain.... that the Avantree Receiver/Transmitter would get he job done.
Steve/bluewizard Hi I have a Yamaha Rx v675 AV receiver,with a sky box , Xbox one
And PS3 running through the amp. I'm using platronics backbeat pro Plantronics - BackBeat PRO Wireless Over-the-Ear Headphones - Black
Are these your headphones?
I suspect the Bluetooth Transmitters we suggested would work.
However, your amp would need to have Pre-Amp outputs.
The Yamaha Amp has Audio Out, but it is not clear if it is Pre-Amp which will respond to the volume control, or if it is fixed level needing an external volume control. The Audio Out would likely work if the Headphones have their own volume control.
Actually I was looking at the wrong amp. The Yamaha Rx v675 AV receiver has Audio Out and Zone-2 Out. But they same thing applies. If those outputs are not controlled by the AVR Volume Control, then the Headphones will need their own volume control.

Steve/bluewizard I'm not sure if it is pre amp either,
How do I find out.
Yes they are my headphones. Hello all,
I have a similar question.
I have an Yamaha Receiver, Yamaha RX v673, with no bluetooth support.
I would like to add a connection in order to facilitate both communication direction:
- steam music from phone or other device via bluetooh to receiver.
- receive music from receiver to bluetooh headphones.
What is the best solution for this?
