cambridge Audio Dacmagic issue,please help
Hello,im not sure im on the right part of the forums for this but here goes,I recently bought a Dacmagic from ebay,I bought it as non working, the seller said he cant get any sound from it,So i purchased it hoping it was the famous psu issue, but ive contacted Cambridge Audio and they tell me thats not the issue after looking at a photo of my psu,Now the issue is,when i try any of the digital inputs im getting very distorted sound thats low in volume as well.Thats it? anyone ever have this issue and any suggestions as to the issue would be greatly appreciated thanks I'd still try another PSU. Google images suggest that all models use 12V, as do most routers, so that may be an easy test if the size of the DC jack matches. If it's not the PSU then it's probably scrap, as I don't think CA have any repair facilities. Thanks for your hasty reply,Yes i have tried a few different psu,all with the same results.
Find it hard to beleive CA dont offer repairs? And surely it could be fixed by some one with electronics knowledge. Ask them & see. Seen plenty of examples of out of warranty failures where CA have said "tough".
Probably, whether it would be economical is an other matter.
