I have just brought a hacker gondolier record player with a Gerrard 3000 deck it looks to be in brilliant condition what i would like to know is it has an st17 stylus in which is correct one (dont know what the cart is at the moment) would it be ok using this on new reissue lp`s like 180g beatles ect not looking for a purist type sound but dont want to ruin my records which i play not just collect. thanks

Its the condition of the stylus that really matters regarding if it maY damage your new vinyl. Check it under a magnifing glass to see the condition, if its in good condition it should be ok on your new vinyl. Alternatively try an old vinyl disc from a charity shop.?

WOW that's heavy, although back in the day it sure was.
If its new, it will be ok.

Depends on the cartridges, but somewhere between 1.4 to 2 grams normally.
